We would like to thank everyone who submitted their applications. The Festival team received 68 project proposals of various formats and genres.

The winner of this year’s voting is an international team of Shukhov Lab and their "Green Spark" project. It is an installation that introduces plants as a new type of renewable energy source. The technology used here is called biological photovoltaics. The electricity is produced by special bacteria that live in the roots of plants and consume the remains of plant life and photosynthetic processes that end up in the soil.
Each ceramic module containing plants functions as a separate battery. These modules are then connected in series and parallel electrical circuits to produce the power necessary to charge the screen. The screen shows messages and visualizes the incoming voltage.

The project will be featured at the Polytech Festival on May 19 and 20, 2018 in Gorky Park.

Congratulations to the winners! We look forward to seeing everyone at the Festival!
