Event on the Festival Map
The installation is a pneumatic roundabout that measures and compares the heartbeat of random visitors, thus showing their similar or dissimilar rhythms, which are reproduced in real-time by an integrated polyphonic sound system. DOUBLE HEART absorbs the frequency of humans and searches for possible interactions between stranger and beloved, questioning the match as atonal repulsion or powerful attraction.
Once inside the installation, all visitors can use the sensors to count the rhythm of their heartbeats, which will then be woven into the real-time soundscape of the collective pulse.
In the night the installation turns into a light & video object.
DOUBLE HEART is a site specific installation developed on the occasion of the Polytech Festival 2017.
