Event on the Festival Map
Exclusively for the Polytech Festival, team Playtronica has prepared an interactive installation that allows viewers to get new tactile and sonic experiences. Several telephone booths will be installed in the Festival area. These will be closed structures created for communication between a person and an object. In each booth, there will be a hidden object, which at the slightest touch will turn into a musical instrument thanks to the Touché technology.
The Touché technology was developed by Russian interactive designer IvanPoupyrev (Google ATAP) for Disney Research. This technology allows the interfaces to recognize the slightest nuances when a person touches a surface. Each subject sounds differently depending on the position, strength and subtle characteristics of the touch. Anyone can get new experiences from the interaction with an everyday object: simplest things come to life when we touch them and at the same time they make us pay attention to their texture, material, surface etc. In short, the objectophone allows you to touch and feel objects the way a sculptor would feel them. Although it is not the first time that Playtronica is experimenting with the idea of synaesthesia, the Touché technology has not been demonstrated in Russia before.
Attention! The Festival program includes a lecture by the creator of the project.
